Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
This policy explains how TastyHouse Club (“TastyHouse”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you use the TastyHouse website (tastyhouseclub.com) and the TastyHouse mobile apps. TastyHouse is a connect-only marketplace: we help buyers find and contact vendors, riders and creators directly; we do not take payment for goods or services sold by vendors.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your name, email address and password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
- Contact details — your phone or WhatsApp number when you add it (required for vendors and riders so buyers can reach them).
- Business information (vendors) — shop name, area and state, logo, banner, opening details, listings, prices, menus and photos.
- Verification (vendors and riders) — identity details such as your National Identification Number (NIN) and the documents or photos you submit, used only to verify you.
- Content you create — messages you send in the in-app chat, reviews and ratings, booking and service requests, delivery requests (including pickup and drop-off addresses) and saved items.
- Support and privacy requests — what you tell us when you contact us.
Information collected automatically
- Location — only if you allow it, to show vendors, hotels and riders near you. You can turn location off at any time in your phone’s settings; the app still works without it.
- Usage — the listings and storefronts you view (we count views to show businesses how their listings perform), searches and pages used, and when you were last active.
- Device information — a random install identifier used to measure sponsored adverts, your device type, and a push-notification token if you allow notifications.
We do not collect payment card details in the app. Plans and add-ons bought on our website are paid through Paystack, which handles your card details under its own privacy policy.
2. How we use your information
- To create and run your account and let you sign in.
- To show listings and help buyers contact vendors, riders and creators — and vendors respond.
- To deliver the bookings, reservations, delivery requests and messages you send.
- To verify vendors and riders, keep the marketplace safe and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To send notifications you have allowed (for example a new message or booking) and service emails about your account.
- To show businesses statistics about their listings (such as view counts) and to measure sponsored adverts.
- To answer support requests and meet our legal obligations.
We use your information on the basis of your consent, to provide the service you asked for, for our legitimate interest in running a safe marketplace, and where the law requires it.
3. Who sees your information
- Other users — your public vendor, rider or creator profile and listings are visible to everyone. When you contact a vendor, book, request a quote or a delivery, the details you send are shared with that vendor or rider. Reviews show your display name.
- Service providers who work for us — website hosting, email delivery, Google (sign-in), Expo and Google/Apple (push notifications) and Paystack (website payments). They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- Authorities — when the law requires it, or to protect our users, the public or TastyHouse.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (for example payment and tax records) and content needed to resolve disputes or prevent fraud, which we keep only as long as necessary.
5. Your rights and choices
- See and update your profile at any time in the app or on the website.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for your account and data to be deleted — in the app (Account → Privacy, or Account → Delete my account) or by emailing us.
- Turn off notifications and location access in your phone’s settings.
- Withdraw consent or object to how we use your information, and complain to your data-protection authority (in Nigeria, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).

6. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), store passwords only in hashed form, and limit staff access to personal information. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password private and tell us if you think your account has been misused.
7. Children
TastyHouse is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email.
